Kids Camp 2026
Sunday, August 2nd – Friday, August 7th
Kids Camp is a week where heart kids and siblings build confidence, friendships, and independence in a safe, medically supported camp setting.
Camp LUCK Kids Camp is designed for children with heart disease and one sibling. Campers enjoy classic camp activities while being supported by a dedicated medical team. Our goal is simple. Give kids a week to try new things, build friendships, and just be kids.
Impact at Kids Camp
In 2025, Kids Camp supported heart kids and siblings with medically supervised care, trained volunteers, and a week built for confidence and connection.
Kids Camp helps campers grow in confidence, independence, and friendships. Families report increased self esteem, stronger peer connections, and a greater sense of belonging after camp.
Applications open February 12 and close July 1.

Why Kids Camp Matters
For many heart kids, Kids Camp is the first time they spend a full week away from home in a setting designed for their medical needs. Campers gain independence while parents gain peace of mind knowing medical care is always close.
Heart kids get the chance to feel like regular kids for a week. Siblings get a shared experience where they feel seen and included. Friendships form that often last long after camp ends.
What Kids Camp Includes

Who Can Attend Kids Camp
Age
Children ages 7–14 at the time of camp.
Heart Kids
Heart kids must be current patients at Atrium Health Levine Children’s, Novant Health Pediatric Cardiology, or another pediatric cardiology practice in North or South Carolina. Families outside of North and South Carolina are welcome to apply if a pediatric cardiology team follows their child.
Medical Criteria
Heart kids must have a history of open heart surgery or another significant heart condition as approved by their pediatric cardiologist.
Siblings
One sibling within the eligible age range may attend with a registered heart kid.
Accommodations
Kids Camp includes on site medical support for children with heart disease. If your child has additional needs, please contact us to discuss the best fit.

Camp Cherokee at Kings Mountain State Park
Kids Camp is more than a week at camp. It is a week that helps heart kids grow, connect, and feel confident being themselves.
