We started #CampLUCK2021 strong. The admin crew misses our in-person kids camp very much this year, but we are working hard on making this week very special for everyone: campers and non-campers alike.
This morning, we went hiking on the Beaver Dam Trail to get our staff ready for Camp LUCK this week! We visited with the beavers, hiked along the trail, and learned all about beavers and how they build their dams from our very own, Eric Dean! Fun fact: did you know that beavers cut down trees based on the sound of rushing water?
If you haven’t had a chance to enjoy nature, be sure to get outside at some point this week and go hiking with your friends and family. Take pics and tag us in them on social media on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn!
We followed our hike with a Facebook Live Camp LUCK Pow Wow featuring Maestro Henry. Maestro took us through a couple of Camp LUCK songs, including “Apples and Bananas” and “Ford Mauntel.” “Ford Mauntel” is dedicated to one of our special former campers, Ford Mauntel.
Tomorrow’s Pow Wow is on Facebook Live at 12:00 pm. It’s tropical-themed, so wear tropical t-shirts, grab a blow-up palm tree, and get ready for some fun!
Chef G ended off the day with a week-long challenge to all campers and non-campers: Chef G’s Cupcake Cook-Off. She challenges you and your family to make your own cupcakes with the theme “Cook the Wave.” Get creative. Be unique. Most importantly: have fun! Check out the full rules here.
A quick reminder that we are meeting up in person on Thursday and Friday of this week at Freedom Park, Shelter 6 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Join us for some fun in the sun and remember to mask up! Sign up here.
