Leadership Programs

Our Teen Leadership Development Program combines leadership training with a unique surf retreat experience in Charleston, SC. This exclusive opportunity, open to a limited number of participants, helps teens build confidence, teamwork skills, and fosters lasting connections amongst our Leaders in Training. The application process requires each teen to provide a personal statement, submit a letter of recommendation, and complete an interview. Once accepted, participants are engaged  in a long weekend of team building exercises, individual opportunities to enhance leadership skills, and extracurricular environmental activities, inspiring positive contributions to Camp LUCK and within their respective communities. 

Surfing and leadership share profound similarities and lessons pertaining to personal and professional development. They both teach balance and adaptability, reading the environment, resilience and patience, staying calm under pressure, confidence and risk-taking and teamwork and support. They teach that success comes from preparation, observation, and the willingness to embrace uncertainty. In both, the journey is as important as the outcome. All are key attributes that we aspire to instill in our Camp LUCK teens.
