Meet Our Prom Court
Dr. Gonzalo Wallis
As a young boy in my hometown of Venezuela, I always dreamt of going to prom.
Unfortunately, I had to study hard to become the Medical Director of the Pediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Program. As you can see, I never had a chance to fulfill my dream. I’m asking you to vote for me. Crown me as your king!! Do it for the children!! take me to prom!
P.S. If crowned, I will be a gentle ruler!
Hello Camp LUCK Family, friends and soon to be friends! I’m a heart kid Dad first and foremost, committee member and volunteer with Bike LUCK and Camp LUCK. I am an avid cyclist and family guy who is fully committed to making sure Bike LUCK and Camp LUCK succeed. Vote for me King of the Camp LUCK Second Chance Prom!
My name is Gillian Jonathas and I am a heart mom to my sweet angel in heaven and Camp LUCK’s Chef. Please vote for me and donate to show support for Camp LUCK and all of its Heart Warriors!
I have been taking care of kids with CHD for 27 years. These kids are true hero’s! Watching them grow up has been such a joy! With Camp LUCK, heart kids can be “normals” kids, without fear of judgement or not fitting in. Parents are reassured that their children have a safe, medically supervised environment to spend a week experiencing the joys of childhood!
Mama P (Jennifer Pearson)
Camp LUCK has been a place that I’ve been volunteering with for 10 years. It’s where we teach heart kids that they have no boundaries! As a counselor I’ve had the opportunity to be one on one with the campers and help them navigate a world of possibilities that outside camp they’re often told they can’t do. My heart is full of love for Camp LUCK!
I’m the oldest heart kid of Camp LUCK. Growing up with heart disease, I did not have a Camp LUCK family much less an opportunity to meet other “heart kids” with scars! My pacemaker rep even told me that my “spaghetti strap” days are over. Despite doctors telling me to “just walk”, I started running, cycling and doing triathlons that lead to a creation of a fundraiser called Bike LUCK. I’ve been the Queen of Bike LUCK for eight years, now I want to be the Queen of Second Chance Prom.
Jay “Bird” Thompson
Growing up near the Queen City,
his dream was to have a prom date that was pretty. So he did art, sports and loved going to Camp, hoping to find that beautiful champ.
So here comes the Prom of 1994,
and Bird was excited to hit the dance floor. He asked and asked and to no prevail,
he was left dateless and prom was a big fail.
So he traveled the world and experienced wide open places, hoping to meet many new faces.
Now the opportunity has arrived,
in which he hopes he will thrive.
A second chance to be cool,
a second chance to run this school, a second chance to have a date, they say it is never too late.
Back in ’94 High School wasn’t easy,
going to Prom solo was just plain cheesy.
Now, he wants more than anything to be your King, confidence and swagger he must bring.
So vote for Bird cause he’s alright,
and through donations let your heart take flight. As your Prom King he is the perfect fit,
to help these kids be UNLIMITED.
Thank you, Sponsors!
